Tasting notes
The 2018 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Frionnes is showing beautifully in bottle, mingling scents of crisp orchard fruit, citrus oil and peach with hints of crushed chalk and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, bright and incisive, it's layered and saline, concluding with a mouthwatering finish.

The 2018 Saint-Aubin Les Frionnes 1er Cru retains the estuarine scents that I picked out from barrel but they have shut down since bottling. Quite viscous on the palate with praline and lemon curd. The tropical fruit in this Frionnes that was hidden last year, have come to the fore, rendering it almost Chenin Blanc-like.
Pale in colour, the nose is really quite elegant here, more volume than expected on the palate yet backed by an attractively crisp finish with good persistence.
