Tasting notes
The 2018 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Pruliers 1er Cru was the most closed of Taupenot’s 2018s despite encouragement from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, plenty of black fruit with cracked black pepper and a touch of balsamic towards the finish. A perfectly fine Pruliers, albeit surpassed by the Gevrey Bel-Air.

This also shows beautiful purity to the fruit and a vibrancy aromatically. A slight soapy note on the attack and then structured and layered tannins support the wine. There is plenty of weight here, and it’s an opulent style but still maintains a refined character. Very moreish. (AC)
The 2018 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Pruliers 1er Cru has an impressive bouquet that mingles red and black fruit, woodland/autumn leaves and a pinch of sage. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, very composed and with good intensity. The backbone of this Pruliers is evident toward the finish, which displays fine salinity, completing an accomplished wine.
