Tasting notes
Lustrous mid ruby. Still a little closed and with hints of cinnamon bark and freshly pitted dark cherries. Gorgeous, succulent and supple fruit with juicy acidity and gripping, ripe tannins. Hedonistic and complex at the same time. (WS)

A powerful and meaningful expression of Sangiovese, the 2015 Brunello di Montalcino opens to dark and savory notes with blackberry and black current, showing some added extraction and richness in this beautiful vintage. The wine seems to build intensity and bandwidth within a relatively short time after being poured from the bottle. Ultimately, it offers an open and generous style that drinks well straight out of the gate, if you simply don't want to wait. Some 32,000 bottles were made.
Here I find a dark, intense, and alluringly rich display with crushed cherries and balsamic spices, giving way to hints of cedar, mint, and a grounding note of undergrowth. It floods the palate with silky textures, coasting on brisk acids, as floral-laced cherry-berry flavors soothe over a coating of saturating minerals and spice, with pretty inner florals on the close. The finish is medium in length, maintaining the wine’s juicy, fresh persona, with a flourish of cherry and sweet florals. The 2015 Talenti is ready to go and sure to please, with an amazing bouquet and zesty performance on the palate. It may not be a wine for the ages, but it sure is beautiful today.
Tasted blind. Lustrous mid ruby. Brooding, concentrated and still a bit closed, but already revealing plenty of depth. Also great depth of fresh fruit on the palate. Sour cherry and ripe raspberry. Very long and with long, sandy tannins and just a suggestion of oak. Tangy and focused finish. (WS)
