The 2017 Meursault Les Chevalières gets my nod as the finest of Coche's lieux-dits this year, and it was showing especially well when I tasted it. Wafting from the glass with notes of lemon oil, white flowers, almond paste and subtle nutmeg, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with a deep, tensile mid-palate built around a bright line of ripe acids, concluding with a long, chalky finish. Coche owns the last plot in Chevalières, touching Meix Chavaux.
