Score 92/100 · Drink 2022-2038, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Feb 2020

Exhibiting notes of white currants, fresh peach, apples and spring flowers, the 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Vide Bourse is medium to full-bodied, satiny and textural, with a layered, almost incautious core of fruit, chalky structuring extract and fine length on the finish. As usual, this is one of the riper, more dramatic wines in the range.

Tank sample. More subtle on the nose than the St-Aubins from this producer but the fruit is lovely – lemon and lemon cream. Tight, taut and long. More precision than intensity overall. (JH)
