2018 Clos Vougeot

Tasting notes
The 2018 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru offers crunchy blackcurrant and raspberry fruit on the nose, crisp with a subtle pressed flower element. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly furry tannins. Modest weight, a modicum of bitterness, though it just misses a little follow-through on the briny aftertaste. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 red tasting.

The 2018 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru is showing very well, soaring from the glass with aromas of wild berries, rose petals, violets, orange rind and dark chocolate. On the palate, it's full-bodied, concentrated and muscular, with lively acids and a powdery but elegantly refined chassis of structuring tannins, concluding with a long and resonant finish.
