Brought up in a mix of new and used barrels, the 2017 Côte Rôtie has a classic, old school bouquet of black raspberries, sappy herbs, spring flowers, and spice. It's medium-bodied, fresh and focused, with plenty of charm. It's going to benefit from short-term cellaring and shine for a decade.

Peppery and floral with restrained black fruit, nicely integrated spice and a rubbery note that may well be brett (or reduction?) but it isn't distracting. Medium body, soft tannins – this is ready to drink. (RH)
