Tasting notes
The 2016 Pinot Noir Graacher Himmelreich *** is intense and aromatic on the iodine nose that displays ripe red fruit (red currant, cherry) and some bandage notes. Silky textured, intense and powerful on the palate, this is a rich and intense, quite massive and plummy Pinot with ripe but massive tannins and a long and intense finish. This is too rich and warm for my personal tastes, yet the wine is stable, fresh and pure as well. It might surprise me in 10 years. Tasted at the domain in September 2020.
