The 2017 Petite Syrah Rattlesnake Ridge is laced with inky dark fruit, juniper berry, sage, mint and dried herbs, all of which give the Rattlesnake Ridge its super-distinctive Howell Mountain savoriness. In the glass, the 2017 is wild, exotic and incredibly alluring.

Very deep opaque purple-black in color, the 2017 Petite Syrah Rattlesnake Ridge has a very pretty nose of fresh violet, lilac, peach cobbler, perfumed earth, cinnamon and nutmeg with black cherry liqueur, smoked meats and fried herbs hints. Full-bodied and huge in the mouth, it has a singular, savory palate with perfumed notes, framed by very firm, very chewy tannins, finishing very long and very layered. This is a beast! 400 cases produced.

The 2017 Petite Syrah Rattlesnake Ridge is one of the most distinctive wines in the range. Then again, we are on Howell Mountain, where the wines are rich, deep and also intensely mineral. A whole host of crushed rock, graphite and savory notes are woven into the fabric of this distinctive, highly expressive Petite from Turley. In 2017, the Rattlesnake Ridge is not a huge wine, but it is endowed with tremendous personality and character.
