Tasting notes
The 2011 Barbaresco shows the signs of a warm vintage. The bouquet offers slightly jammy aromas with blackberry and prune backed by clove, licorice and white pepper. This is a difficult wine to gauge because it could fall flat sooner rather than later. Yet, Punset's wines usually improve greatly with age so there may well be more surprises in store.

Mature-looking ruby with orange rim. Ripe, open-knit nose that seems to be developing fast and with hints of undergrowth. It has just enough acidity to keep things going. Richness on the palate, but without being really fruity. (WS)
Neive. Dark maturing-looking ruby with narrow orange rim. Rather a lot of caramelly oak on the nose and with the beginning of oxidation. Rich extract on the palate with hints of rose petals but the acidity is sticking out a little bit. (WS)
