Tasting notes
This shows so much fruit with licorice and graphite undertones. Full and round with velvety tannins and a long, long finish. A great wine. Drink now.

The 1997 Valpolicella's opaque purple color is accompanied by a thick, glycerin-imbued texture with immense concentration, fabulous purity, and copious quantities of smoky, earth-infused, blackberry and cherry fruit. This awesome effort must be tasted to be believed. It will be released later this year, and should drink well for 10-12 years. (Not yet released) Importer: Vias Imports, New York, NY; tel. About the producer

Along with Giuseppe Quintarelli, Dal Forno Romano makes the best wines in the Veneto. The history of Dal Forno Romano, however, is much shorter, and its rise to fame much faster.
