Tasting notes
The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet La Rue Aux Vaches is the first wine Pernot has produced from fruit harvested by her team, pressed with her own vertical press. The resulting wine is promising, offering up aromas of crisp green orchard fruit, nutmeg and fresh pastry, followed by a medium to full-bodied palate that's more chiseled and tightly wound than the wines that come from the family holdings in must.

Only one barrel of the 2018 Puligny-Montrachet La Rue Aux Vaches was produced, and it will be bottled entirely in magnum—so this is a rare bird, but it's well worth seeking out. Unwinding in the glass with notes of citrus oil, Anjou pear, warm bread and light reduction, it's medium to full-bodied and textural but incisive, with fine concentration and a long, saline finish.
About the producer

Alvina Pernot is one of the most exciting producers of white Burgundy today. Based in Puligny-Montrachet with some incredible vineyards, this is a name to watch – creating taut and mineral styles of white Burgundy.
