Full bottle 1,689 g. 25% oak aged. From an east-facing clos. Very, very heavy bottle. Ugh. Clementines, limes and toasted-oat nose. Lots of toasty oats on the palate too, along with a broad swathe of citrus dusted with white-pepper spices and hulled sunflower-seed nuttiness. Confident and competent and if you want a decent burgundy under £30, not a bad option at all. Good, pert, origami-tight-folded finish loaded with spice. (TC)

Lively and fresh, yet with good intensity in its buttered citrus, orange blossom, and mineral aromas and flavors, the medium-bodied 2017 Clos Du Chateau Bourgogne Blanc has bright acidity, a tight, vibrant texture, and a great finish. It picks up richness and depth with time in the glass and has outstanding purity, subtle oak, and a distinct sense of minerality. I wasn’t able to get the retail price, but I suspect it's a stunning value.

Aromas of orange oil, flowers and spices. Dry to the point of austere, with citrus fruit and mineral flavors conveying noteworthy structure and grip for the category. Stéphane Follin-Arbelet noted that the estate should produce between 50 and 60 hectoliters per hectare here but made only 45 in 2017 due to the cold weather in late April. Incidentally, the first third of this block around the Château is actually Meursault Sous La Velle.
