FINE+RARE, Oct 2020

The Macallan Estate is a celebration of the distillery’s home and roots – crafting a spirit based in the barley grown on its Easter Elchies property. On the banks of the River Spey, this 485-acre site has been the source of barley for The Macallan’s superlative whiskies since it was founded in 1824. This home-grown barley is distilled only once a year – with the resulting new-make used only for the distillery’s most exclusive releases. The Macallan Estate comes in a stunning gift box, with a hand-cut slate panel and aerial photography of the Easter Elchies barley fields. Crafted by Macallan Whisky Maker Sarah Burgess, this is a fine Speyside single malt with the distillery’s classic Sherried notes, with layers of spice and dried fruit cut by a hint of citrus.
