Score 85/100 · Drink 2016-2017, Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate, Dec 2016
The 2013 Ala Colorada Cabernet Franc showed a restrained nose and a light palate, with low concentration and too much oak for the fruit it has. 15,000 bottles produced.

(15% alcohol): Red-ruby. Complex aromas of blackberry, licorice, graphite and coffee along with a leesy nuance. Concentrated, saline flavors of sweet black fruits, musky coffee and chicory are lifted by a violet topnote. A bit oaky for my taste but conveys good energy and savory complexity, not to mention generosity of texture. Finishes dry and persistent, with no rough edges.
