The 2016 Chardonnay (Sonoma Coast), 100% from Bohan, is a decidedly powerful, phenolic wine. Orchard fruit, lemon confit, almonds and lightly tropical notes run through this intense, structured Chardonnay. Interestingly, the Chardonnay has more body and weight than the Bohan Pinot in 2016!

You may remember that the 2015 vintage of this wine was controversial at our California fundraiser . Attractive pale lemon yellow. Lightly reductive nose. Bone dry and with decidedly more fruit and appeal (to me) than its predecessor. Still masses of acidity and I do yearn for a little bit more flesh. Well made, and it took on a bit of body in the glass. I may even be under-estimating its longevity. (JR)
