From Blind River, Dashwood and Lower Wairau subregions. Once settled, the batches were cool fermented in stainless-steel tanks using cultured yeasts. Blended and bottled under screwcap. TA 7.3 g/l, pH 3.26. Vegan. Clean, ripe and intense aromas combining lemon, lemongrass, blackcurrant leaf and fresh herbs. Very zesty and bright. Mercifully dry on the palate, very crisp and mostly citrus – lemon and grapefruit – on the palate. Sharp edges but very refreshing. Classic and without unwanted extremes or sweetness. Mouth-watering finish. (JH)

A blend of fruit from Blind River and Dashwood, in the Awatere, and from the main Wairau Valley, Tinpot Hut's 2018 Sauvignon Blanc does a nice job balancing ripe, tropical notes against grassy, leafy nuances. It's medium-bodied and plump in the mouth yet with a long, lime juice-riddled finish.
Grass, nettles, gooseberry. Creamy texture. Join-the-dots Sauvignon. Does the job. (RH)
Fiona Turner's offering from the Blind River subregion of Awatere. Very slightly sweaty nose. And quite rich palate entry. Very bright fruit and then some chalky texture on the end. (JR)
