Score 87/100 · Drink 2018-2023, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Sep 2018
Cool, closed nose hints at menthol and spicy oak. Slightly hard-edged on the palate, and not showing the sweetness of the Beaune Montagne Saint-Désiré. Finishes with decent savory length and spice character, and an impression of solid extract, but also with a touch of dryness. I don't find a lot of Puligny lift or floral character. This parcel is located below Referts and runs into Meursault Charmes and is indeed rather Meursault-like (the lieu-dit is actually called Les Charmes).
