Score 17/20 · Drink 2018-2026, Jancis Robinson MW, Oct 2017
Reenan Borman's flagship wine in an unnecessarily heavy bottle made up of 40% Cabernet Franc, 39% Cabernet Sauvignon and 21% Merlot grown on the home farm and 'carefully' matured in new French barriques for 20 months. Mid healthy crimson. Now there are some flavours I haven't seen in a while! Fresh, healthy, ripe, but not overripe New World Bordeaux fruit.... All of it a very charming, well integrated blend without any excesses.Sappy energy. The oak influence is only just discernible and will presumably disappear with time. Worth hanging on to. reall petty smart. No more than medium bodied. (JR)
