Score 80/100 · Drink 2014-2016, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Sep 2014

Monsanto's 2009 Sangiovese Fabrizio Bianchi sticks out from the rest of this lineup for its super-rich, extracted style, hard tannins and limited elegance. It's frankly hard to understand why an estate so steeped in history would feel the need to make a wine like this.
