2013 Cantos del Diablo

The nose of the 2013 Cantos del Diablo, a pure Garnacha from a single plot on a slope at 860 meters altitude, is really showy, very intense aromatically, mixing citric notes with hints of peated malt and Mediterranean herbs (rosemary), some yellow flowers and balsamic hints, almost cola nut. The 2013 was harvested on October 15, and they had to sort the grapes and select the grapes, and in the end only 369 bottles were filled in February 2015. The palate has incredible tension and a subtle granite minerality with a texture that feels more like limestone than granite. It dries your mouth and makes you salivate. This is really superb, but it won't be easy to come by.

Aromas of blackberries, cherries and mushrooms follow through to a full body with firm tannins and a beautiful finish. Refined and layered. Made from a high altitude single vineyard of garnacha in Real de San Vicente. Better in 2017.
