Tasting notes
The 2006 Brunello di Montalcino is a pretty, gracious wine laced with crushed flowers, dark cherries, plums, spices and licorice. This is one of the more delicate, feminine wines of the vintage. All of the elements come together nicely in the glass. The wine's inner perfume and fleshiness blossoms on the mid-palate before the wine gains focus and drive on the finish. This is a very pretty effort from La Fornacina.

Concentrated ruby with lighter orange-tinged rim. Sweet, heady and slightly stewed nose with new oak notes. Stewed fruit, with a dollop of new oak and lifted acidity on the palate. (WS)
