The 2017 Meursault Clos des Corvées de Citieau is a one-hectare monopole that is part of L’Ormeau on clay soil that is relatively flat compared to other climats . It has a generous bouquet with white peach, almond and hints of white chocolate that unfold in the glass. The palate is well balanced and fresh despite the lower acidity, hints of orange rind and quince with a taut and quite linear finish. This feels nicely coiled at the moment and the dab of ginger on the aftertaste is pleasing and urges you back for another sip.

The domaine's emblematic wine, the 2017 Meursault Clos de Corvées de Citeau Monopole derives from a one-hectare enclosed vineyard in the heart of the village with a warm mesoclimate and clay-rich soils. Offering up aromas of buttered apples, hazelnut, tangerine oil and pear, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with an ample attack and pleasing balancing succulence despite its rich, gourmand personality. It's a lovely wine for which I've had a weakness since encountering several older vintages a few years ago.
