The 2015 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chaumées Clos de la Truffière from the Jouard brothers is very attractive, wafting from the glass with notes of buttered apples, mint, mandarin oil and subtle frangipane. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, nicely concentrated and very mineral—almost saline—at the core and on the finish. While it's open for inspection, this seems to be holding the most in reserve of all Jouard's 1er crus in the 2015 vintage.

Chewy texture, with fine-boned acidic structure. Green apple fruit but not a huge amount besides. Some salty minerality on the finish. (RH)
