Tasting notes
The 1988 Solaia takes things to another level. It has the depth and richness of the best wines of this era, but with a bit more freshness and overall energy. Grilled herb, licorice and leather accents linger on the fresh, savory finish. What a great way to end this first flight.

I find the 1988 Solaia more interesting than the 1985 because of its greater complexity and better overall structure. This is one of the all-time great Tuscan vintages, and Solaia captures every bit of that profoundness. What a gorgeous wine this is.
