Score 88/100 · Drink 2016-2021, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Aug 2016

The 2013 Barbaresco Asili is ripe, sensual and forward, with plenty of fruit and fine overall balance. This is an especially ripe, dark expression of Asili that emphasizes fruit and concentration over aromatics. Black cherry, plum, cloves, dark chocolate and new leather are some of the signatures.

Barbaresco. Maturing ruby with narrow orange rim. Already a little mature on the nose with the first signs of mulch. Mellow, ripe-fruit palate with a touch of fruit cake. Already approachable. (WS)
