The 2014 Chablis Grand Cru Vaudesir, which comes from 50-year-old vines that are single cane pruned, is fermented in stainless steel tanks. It has a pretty, tightly wound, granitic, flinty bouquet that will clearly need 3-4 years to really find its groove. The palate is fresh and crisp on the entry, a comparatively linear and stern Vaudésir with strong flinty/granite notes forming the uncompromising, but very attractive finish. This has great potential and would be my pick from Louis Moreau in this vintage.
