Score 92/100 · Drink 2022-2040, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jan 2019

The 2016 Santenay 1er Cru Le Passetemps is very serious, unfurling in the glass with aromas of red berries, cassis, smoked meats and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, dense and concentrated, with a deep and tight-knit core, bright acids and a long, chalky finish. This will need time but may prove to be the finest of Vincent's 2016 reds in the long term.
