The 2015 Jaspis Spätburgunder Alte Reben opens deep, pure and ripe on the quite open, warm and fruity yet elegant and refined nose. Full-bodied, smooth and round on the palate, this is a wide, intense and sweet, super ripe and elegant Pinot Noir (a.k.a. Spätburgunder) from 50+-year-old vines. The tannins are supple and fine, and still the wine lacks the tension and grip I expect from a really great Pinot. However, the wine is long and intense and will age many years. 12.5% alcohol. Tasted from lot L 28 17 in November 2020.
