Tasting notes
Dark red. Wild, musky aromas of strawberry, raspberry, mocha and complex soil tones. A juicy, energetic midweight with spicy, peppery lift to its red berry flavors (this wine was vinified with 40% whole clusters). This shapely village wine, which struck me as a bit dry-edged from barrel in late 2015, has turned out well and should provide relatively early pleasure.

(50% vendange entier ): Healthy deep red. Musky aromas of dark berries, coffee and underbrush. Surprisingly juicy and savory but dry-edged and rather brooding in the early going despite possessing good texture. Shows pronounced herb and spice notes from the stems.
The 2013 Chambolle Musigny Vieilles Vignes includes 50% whole cluster fruit this year. It has a crisp, well defined, quite stony bouquet that is nicely defined. The palate is medium-bodied with a pleasant saline entry, quite supple tannins, yet a linear, Morey-like finish that has just a prickle of spice on the aftertaste. Give this a year in bottle.
