Score 95/100 · Drink 2020-2033, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2017

The 2013 Barolo Cerretta is a bit more lifted, aromatic and gracious in style than the Baudana. Sweet red cherry, pine, mint, herbs, licorice and wild flowers give the Cerretta its distinctive lifted personality. In 2013, the Cerretta is a wine of pure and total grace. There is plenty of power, tension and structure, all elements that will need time to resolve.

Serralunga d’Alba. Tasted blind. Deep ruby. Brooding on the nose. Tannic but contained and framing embryonic cherry fruit. Stylish, elegant and firm on the finish. A beautiful wine. (WS)
