Score 98/100 · Drink 2014-2030, Pierre Rovani, Dec 2002

Gun flint, smoky slate, sea salt, sweet limes, honeyed minerals, and poached pears are found in the boisterous nose of the 2001 Riesling Auslese Graacher Domprobst A.P. #1102. The combination of seamless harmony and unbridled power of this wine is mind-numbing. Expansive, it slathers the palate with untold layers of poached pears, candied apples, red fruits, dried honey, and a distinctive note of cassis liqueur that permeates the taster's palate throughout its unbelievably long, compelling finish. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2030+. After tasting these resplendent vinous treasures all I could do was shake my head in bewilderment. Bravo!
