Tasting notes
There is sweet, nearly over-ripe fruit, plenty of mineral/stony scents, and evidence of new oak underlying this medium-weight wine's backward personality. The aromas of over-ripe cherries and prunes are attractive. Anticipated maturity: Now-2010. Last tasted, 1/93.

From the barrel, the 1990 was typically backward, stern, and firm. Now in bottle, it has emerged somewhat from its tannic armor and is more interesting. There is sweet, nearly over-ripe fruit, plenty of mineral/stony scents, as well as evidence of new oak underlying this medium-weight wine's backward personality. The aromas of over-ripe cherries and prunes are vaguely reminiscent of the great Pomerol, Lafleur. Anticipated maturity: 1997-2010.
