Score 90/100 · Drink 1996-2003, Robert Parker, Dec 1992

Vidal-Fleury's top red wines are its two cuvees of Cote Rotie. The regular cuvee, from the firm's own vineyards, is usually an excellent wine. The 1989 Cote Rotie-La Chatillonne exhibits a toasty, vanillin-scented nose, plenty of red and black fruit scents in its bouquet, but less opulence and concentration than either the 1990 or 1991. Nevertheless, I would be delighted to drink it on any occasion. Rich, medium to full-bodied, and soft, it is ideal for consuming over the next 10 years. Importer: William J. Deutsch, Inc., Chappaqua, NY.
