Tasting notes
The 2008 Clos de Vougeot-Musigni presents a solid core of fruit buttressed by a firm core of tannins and bright acidity. All of the elements come together beautifully in this focused, deftly balanced Burgundy. Floral notes linger on the pointed, precise finish. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2028. Dark crimson. A little febrile on the nose. Sweet and nervy but not very pure. Drying oak tannins on the finish. (JR)
Healthy deep red. Expressive nose offers dark raspberry, smoked meat, spices and minerals. The sweetest yet of these 2008s, with a firm acid spine giving shape to the dark berry and mineral flavors. This offers good shape and cut and finishes clean and persistent.
