Moderately saturated medium red. Ripe aromas of raspberry, minerals and resiny oak. At once creamy and penetrating, with an exotic sweetness to the redcurrant and oak flavors. My sample was taken from a new barrel, but the ultimate blend will only feature about 15% new oak. About half of this wine is from vines in La Combe d'Orveau. (Incidentally, Laurent told me he will not bottle any Chambolle premier crus from the 2004 vintage.)
