Good medium red. Aromas and flavors of fresh raspberry, mocha and nutty oak, with notes of leather and minerals. Tighter and juicier than the Rocche, showing lovely balance and vinosity. Became more ethereal as it opened with air. Finishes with harmonious tannins and very good length.

The 2007 Barolo Big 'd Big presents quite a bit more delineation in its aromas and flavors than the Vigna d'la Roul. Freshly cut flowers, licorice, sweet red fruit come together beautifully in this stunning Barolo. Mint, sweet herbs, tar and incense add an exotic quality that is very pretty here. This is a rare 2007 that will require cellaring. Even with all of its richness, the Big comes across as vibrant and quite classic, not to mention it is simply impeccable.
