Tasting notes
Medium to deep ruby colored and youthfully coiled on the nose, the 2016 Zinfandel Home Ranch offers, with time, aromas of chocolate-covered blueberries, underbrush, floral perfume, ripe peach, exotic spices and dark berries. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is packed with spicy fruits supported by gently grainy tannins and juicy acidity, finishing long. This has the density and texture to blossom well in bottle, so give it another 2-3 years before popping the cork. 2,408 cases produced.

The 2016 Zinfandel Home Ranch comes from the estate in Alexander Valley and spent 14 months in 20% new French oak. It's another complex, nuanced Zinfandel that has plenty of sweet black and blue fruits, kirsch, dried herbs, and cedary spice aromas and flavors. Rich, ripe, and heady, this is a sexy, flamboyant Zinfandel that packs tons of fruit and richness yet stay nicely balanced on the palate and offers loads of pleasure. It should evolve gracefully for a decade.
