The 2015 Sancerre les Baronnes opens very flinty on the nose and displays a pretty intense fruit. Round and mouth-filling, this is a piquant and grippy Sancerre with aromatic Sauvignon favors (gooseberries). Very attractive but lacks the personality of the other HB wines.

About the producer

Henri Bourgeois
Although the family had long grown vines in Sancerre, it was in the 1950s that Henri Bourgeois started championing the wines of Chavignol. The property grew from two to 65 hectares, spread between Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé, and is one of the standard-bearers for the region.
