Tasting notes
Dark red. A highly complex bouquet displays scents of ripe dark berries, cherry-cola, exotic spices and woodsmoke, along with a suave, building floral nuance. Shapely and energetic on the palate, offering concentrated black raspberry, bitter cherry and rose pastille flavors that turn sweeter on the back half. Finishes spicy, pliant and very long, displaying well-knit tannins and repeating florality.

Marzipan, strawberry candy – very ripe and generous, then surprisingly firm on the palate. The tannin is rounded but insistent, and there’s a touch of bitterness on the finish. (RH)
As well as the more typical strawberries, blueberries and violets this also shows mint, charcoal and nutmeg on the nose. The palate is medium in flavor and body but a little too high-octane even if the fruit is very enjoyable and the tannins round. Drink now.
