Tasting notes
100% Chardonnay grown at 500 to 600 m, aged for 10 years on lees. Extra Brut with RS less than 2.5 g/l. Fairly deep gold, lemony nose, light autolysis and a nice combination of freshness and maturity. Great balanced and throat-salving quality. (JR)

Only made in the best years, the 2004 Trento Metodo Classico Brut Giulio Ferrari Riserva del Fondatore is an exceptional creation with enormous richness, finesse and a lingering sense of purpose. By that I mean that the wine seems firmly rooted to its Italian identity with a sharp and defined delivery that reflects the cool farming conditions of the mountainous north of Italy. The wine also offers a lingering sense of opulence and depth. I encourage readers to taste this landmark wine that is a symbol of an Italian sparkling wine tradition. This Chardonnay-based sparkler sees ten long years of careful sur lie contact. Fruit is sourced from the Maso Pianizza cru.
