Tasting notes
Inky ruby. Intense blueberry, incense, exotic spice and mineral qualities on the expansive, seductively perfumed nose. Stains the palate with spice-laced black and blue fruit, spicecake, olive and violet pastille flavors that show real power and tension and no excess fat. The floral and mineral notes drive a strikingly long, pure finish given shape by smooth, steadily building tannins.

Brilliant purple. Vibrant, highly perfumed blue fruit, floral and incense aromas show outstanding clarity and pick up exotic spice and smoky mineral flourishes with aeration. Pure, focused and energetic on the palate, offering appealingly sweet boysenberry, cherry and violet pastille flavors that show no rough edges. Deepens slowly on the strikingly long, lively finish, which features resonating florality and smooth, harmonious tannins.
About the producer

Allemand’s wines set the benchmark for Cornas: expressive Syrahs crafted with uncompromising traditional methods and released in tiny quantities. From the 1980s, he revived abandoned vineyards on Cornas’s steep granite slopes, building his domaine without inherited land or financial support.
