Starting with the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Ranch, this beauty comes from a site just above Dalla Valla and is a gorgeously layered, elegant 2016 that packs terrific notions of cassis, blueberries, black raspberries, dried earth, and tobacco. It has ultra-fine tannins, remarkable purity of fruit (which is the hallmark of this great vintage), no hard edges, and a great, great finish. It’s a thrilling Napa Cab that can be enjoyed today or cellared for two decades or more. There are numerous brilliant wines in the lineup from Patria, which are made by the talented Tony Biagi.

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Ranch is a very beautiful and expressive wine. Aromatic and spiced, with terrific purity throughout, the 2016 has so much to offer. This is an especially polished, nuanced Cabernet Sauvignon from Tony Biagi. Sweet red cherry, raspberry jam, flowers and espresso add shades of nuance through to the layered, persistent finish.

The 2016 Oakville Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon is composed of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc aged 19 months in 90% new French oak, from a vineyard that sits between Dalla Valle and Ovid. It's very deep purple-black colored with a nose that rocks up with wonderfully open, expressive crème de cassis, blueberries and warm plums with hints of cigar box, tilled soil and menthol plus a touch of pencil shavings. Full-bodied and concentrated in the mouth, the palate features black fruits and earthy layers framed by big, ripe, rounded tannins and great freshness, finishing long. 475 cases produced.

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Ranch is a step up from the 2015. Specifically, the 2016 is polished, sensual and inviting, with expressive aromatics and extraordinary purity of fruit. A rush of blueberry jam, menthol, licorice, lavender and cloves lead into the finish. Time in the glass brings out a more delicate, understated side, qualities that are not always found in Oakville Ranch wines. The 2016 is the first vintage that incorporates See Clone Cabernet.
