Tasting notes
The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru offers red cherry, raspberry and white-tipped strawberries on the nose, which is very well defined and focused, though understated, gradually taking its time to unfurl. The palate is fleshy on the entry, velvety smooth in texture and shows plenty of rondeur , but there were questions of TCA drying on the finish. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting.

The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru has a complex bouquet of red currant, cranberry, leather and light minty aromas that gather pace in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a fresh line of acidity and superb _ mineralité _ on the finish. This comes highly recommended.
Now there is some real intensity and potential here! A bit of a battle going on between fruit and tannins, but I think the fruit will out. (JR)
The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru, matured in 30% new oak, has quite a deep color. The bouquet is a little introverted at first, scents of black cherries, blueberry and pressed violets gradually unfolding in the glass. The palate is very well balanced and quite intense, offering mineral-rich black cherry and blueberry fruit, then easing down the gears toward the elegant finish. Superb.
