The 2017 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Murgers 1er Cru has a focused, precise bouquet that feels neatly integrated with the new oak (around 60%). The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, expressive and certainly pretty, delivering plenty of tension on the quite persistent finish. Delightful.

Aromas of cassis, dark berries, grilled game and smoky new oak introduce the 2017 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Aux Murgers, a medium-bodied wine that's satiny, layered and fine-boned, displaying unusually suave structure at this early stage and concluding with a sneakily intense finish despite its elegantly middle-weight profile. This is shaping up to be a precocious Méo Murgers that will drink well with just a few years' bottle age.

Firm reduction renders the nose impossible to evaluate. The sleek and beautifully detailed if not particularly concentrated middle weight flavors offer even better depth and persistence. This is certainly very pretty if not at its usual level.
