Tasting notes
Purchased as must from a biodynamic producer, the 2017 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets bursts with aromas of yellow orchard fruit, honeycomb, spices and toasted nuts. Medium to full-bodied, broad and enveloping, with a satiny attack and an ample mid-palate, it's racy and tensile despite its volume, concluding with a saline finish.

Bright yellow. Much more reticent on the nose than the Morgeot, offering aromas of white peach, flowers, white pepper and menthol enlivened by a mineral element. Suave and fine-grained but quite backward and tight, displaying the density of material to support its penetrating lemony cut and saline minerality. The tactile finish features terrific citrussy energy and rising length. But this wine is evolving very slowly and will need longer élevage .
