(this wine had recently been racked off its lees, then assembled and returned to barrel with the intention of fattening it, according to Rovani): Very hazy appearance. A strong lemony aroma is complicated by notes of chlorophyll, spearmint and spicy oak. Concentrated, distinctly citrussy wine with noteworthy depth to its flavors of candied lemon peel, menthol and spices. Finishes tactile, spicy and very long, with high-toned suggestions of orange oil and mint. I suspect that this wine will gain further in richness during the remainder of its élevage , not to mention time in bottle.
