Tasting notes
The 2016 Vosne-Romanée Aux Champs Perdrix is 100% whole bunch fruit this year, two barrels produced. It has a tightly wound bouquet with more black fruit than red at the moment. The palate is marked by fine, supple tannin and a fine bead of acidity. While not complex, there is a sense of focus here and a pastille-like purity toward the sensual finish. I appreciate the energy locked into this wine, and it should age with style for a village cru.
