Tasting notes
The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Les Hauts Doix 1er Cru has an odd, slightly lactic bouquet at first, but improves with aeration; it feels slightly East Asian in style. The palate is fleshy and quite oaky, very New World, with a simple, slightly shallow finish. I find this mercurial and difficult to pin down. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting.

Intense chestnuts nose. Lots of charming fruit with energy. Pretty smart. Earthy and energetic. Sweet finish. (JR)
