Tasting notes
Inky ruby. Intensely perfumed aromas of black and blue fruit liqueur, exotic spices, olive and potpourri are energized by a smoky mineral nuance. Juicy and expansive in the mouth, displaying impressively concentrated boysenberry and cherry preserve flavors complemented by suggestions of candied violet, licorice and bitter chocolate. The floral and mineral notes come back strong on a strikingly long, penetrating finish that features building tannins and a sweet touch of cola.

Crème de cassis and blackberry aromas sufficient to fill the room emerge on the nose of Sorrel's 2017 Hermitage Le Greal. Full-bodied, rich, and supple, this is a lush, creamy wine that shows incredible intensity of flavor without excess weight. Underneath all of that plush fruit is a stony core of structure and myriad spicy complexities that should sustain it for decades to come.
92% Syrah, 8% Marsanne. Cask sample. Gorgeous fragrance – violet, chocolate, black cherry. Long, toasty and meaty aftertaste on the finish. Fine-grained tannin with excellent persistence of fruit, as well as vivid and delicious fragrance. The full package! (RH)
